Like everyone at the beginning of the New Year, I resolved to lose weight and become more active, so I joined the Y. In the beginning I was coming to the Y to walk theman woman arms outstretched track, then in late winter my wife and I signed up for a beginner Tai Chi class. During that time I also started to use the various cardiovascular machines to strengthen my heart. When I joined the Y my weight was 212 pounds and my BMI was 28.7. In one year I lost over 20 pounds and lowered my BMI to 26.9. I feel better every day and working out first thing in the morning gives me more energy to face the day - whatever it brings!
